SEND Teacher
Join our growing team as a committed, compassionate SEND Teacher. You'll deliver high-quality, adaptive teaching that meets diverse needs, embed technology in everyday practice, and play a key role in our therapeutic, child-centred classroom.
Edgewood Academy is an inclusive, therapeutic independent school where education adapts to the child, not the other way around. We are seeking a committed and compassionate SEND Teacher to join our growing team. You will support pupils with diverse learning needs through personalised, adaptive and relational teaching approaches. Our school has a strong focus on SEND, emotional wellbeing, safeguarding, therapeutic practice and technology-enhanced learning.

Has experience supporting children with SEND and/or vulnerable learners
Builds positive, trusting relationships with pupils
Understands emotional regulation, wellbeing and inclusive practice
Can deliver engaging, individualised learning
Is committed to safeguarding and child welfare
Works well as part of a supportive, child-centred team
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Willingness to engage in reflective practice and ongoing CPD
What You'll Do
Teaching & Learning
- Deliver high-quality, adaptive teaching that meets diverse needs
- Create safe, engaging and ambitious learning environments
- Use assessment effectively to identify gaps and support progress
- Understand how technology can be used to transform teaching and learning and promote inclusion and engagement for all pupils
SEND & Inclusion
- Support pupils with EHCPs and SEND plans
- Deliver targeted interventions and personalised strategies
- Contribute to reviews and provision mapping
- Champion inclusive practice across the curriculum
Professional Practice
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/carers and external professionals
- Maintain accurate records and follow school policies (assessment, SEND, safeguarding, attendance)
- Contribute to whole-school improvement and model professionalism
